As a partner in the firm, Ms. West practices in the
areas of business and commercial real estate law, estate planning
and administration, and taxation. She has represented entities
in connection with choosing an entity, formation, redemptions,
acquisitions, business restructuring and governance, and written
and lectured on the area of Limited Liability Companies.
She has experience in all aspects of commercial real estate
transactions, including negotiating and drafting real estate
purchase and sale contracts, commercial leases and construction
contracts, financing, closing on purchases and sales and dispute
resolution. Ms. West also assists clients in estate planning
and administration of estates. Ms. West understands that clients
are best served with clear, concise, written agreements early
in a transaction, to avoid costly litigation.
Ms. West holds the highest peer reviewed rating, AV, from
Martindale-Hubbell®. In 2011 she received the distinction
of “Rising Stars 2011” by Virginia Super Lawyers
and is listed in the Business/Corporate category. She is a
2011 graduate of LEAD Hampton Roads, a signature program of
the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce to focus leaders on
the key issues that face Hampton Roads and its position in
the state, the nation and the global economy. Ms. West served
as a judicial clerk for Honorable John C. Morrison, Jr. and
Honorable Joseph A. Leafe of the Circuit Court of the City
of Norfolk in 2002-2003.
