AAML Fellows are a select group of skilled negotiators and litigators representing individuals in all aspects of family law. Fellows are considered the leading family law practitioners with the highest level of knowledge, skill and integrity, as demonstrated by experience, reputation and oral and written examination. Garriott is one of only 50 AAML Fellows in Virginia.

Richard Garriott represents clients in divorce, property settlement agreements, child custody and pre-marital agreements. He works closely with his clients to familiarize them with both the legal and practical aspects of their cases and to facilitate resolutions so that clients can move on with their lives. He is recognized as a statewide advocate for children who are impacted by divorce and child custody disputes, and serves on the boards of the Virginia State Bar and Virginia Bar Association family law sections.

Earlier this year, Garriott was selected by Virginia Super Lawyers in the family law practice area and by Virginia’s Legal Elite in the family/domestic relations category. He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. In 2009, Virginia Lawyers Weekly named Garriott a Leader in the Law for achievements in the legal professional and contributions to the community.
