Richard E. Garriott, Esq., a partner with Clarke, Dolph, Rapaport,
Hull, Brunick & Garriott, PLC, has been named as a member
of the Virginia Family Law Coalition, an organization administered
jointly by the Virginia Bar Association (VBA) and the Virginia
Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA).
The original Coalition Committee was formed by the VBA in
1996 to bring together statewide and local bar associations
to evaluate family law legislation in the Virginia General
Assembly and to support or oppose bills according to the consensus
view of Coalition members. The new organization, the Virginia
Family Law Coalition, which provides lobbying support for
the Coalition was announced in December 2008. Garriott
is a Domestic Relations Council Member with the Virginia
Bar Association and serves on the Board of Governors of
the Family Law Section as well as serving as a member of
Hampton Roads’ bar associations. Mr. Garriott represents
clients in Pre-marital Agreements, Divorce, Property Settlement
Agreements and Custody. In his litigation practice, Mr.
Garriott represents corporate clients in a variety of civil
matters, employment issues, workers’ compensation,
personal injury, and tax and contract matters.
After receiving a B.A. in 1991 from University of Richmond,
Garriott received his M.A. in 1993 from Ball State University
and his Law Degree in 1996 from the T.C. Williams School
of Law, University of Richmond.
